Mariners 9, Monarchs 2
Mariners erupt for six-run seventh to sink Monarchs, 9–2
The Grand Lake Mariners (9–19) broke open a tight game with a decisive six-run seventh inning and rolled past the Michigan Monarchs (24–5), 9–2, on Wednesday night at Grand Lake in Celina, Ohio.
Michigan actually held a 2–1 lead into the bottom of the sixth, but Grand Lake's lineup delivered timely hits—and Michigan's defense and bullpen unraveled—turning a close contest into a lopsided final.

How it happened
Grand Lake struck first in the 1st when Forrest Day lined an RBI single to left-center, scoring Sean Krueckeberg for a 1–0 lead.
Michigan answered in the 3rd on Emmanuel Gutierrez's RBI single up the middle to tie it, then moved ahead in the 5th when Gutierrez lifted a sacrifice fly to right to bring home Cole Novara for a 2–1 Monarchs advantage. Gutierrez finished with both Michigan RBIs.
That lead didn't last.
In the 6th, Krueckeberg tied the game with a solo homer to right-center, and Grand Lake took the lead moments later on Matthew Hutchinson's RBI groundout—an unearned run that proved to be the start of Michigan's collapse.

The turning point: a chaotic seventh
Grand Lake's seven-run surge across the 6th and 7th was fueled by a mix of clutch hitting and Michigan mistakes. The seventh inning alone produced six runs, highlighted by:
- A run scoring on a wild pitch to make it 4–2
- Hutchinson's two-run single, then an additional base gained on a throwing error by the center fielder
- RBI singles from Day, Solomon Harwood, and Noah Drake
By the time the inning ended, the Mariners had flipped a 3–2 edge into a commanding 9–2 lead.
Michigan committed three errors (by JJ Fontana, Gutierrez, and Novara), and several of Grand Lake's late runs were marked unearned, but the Mariners still piled up 11 hits and consistently pressured the defense.
